Return to Work Programs
Objective Assessment and Structured Rehabilitation for Safe, Sustainable Return to Work
About our Programs, Assessments and Evaluations
Returning to work after an injury requires more than symptom improvement—it requires a clear understanding of physical abilities, job demands, and functional readiness. Our team provides comprehensive evaluations and structured rehabilitation programs to support safe, confident, and sustainable return-to-work outcomes.
We focus on objectively measuring functional capacity, improving strength and endurance, restoring work-specific abilities, and supporting communication between workers, employers, and insurers when required.
Our Services Include:
- Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs)
Comprehensive, standardized assessments that objectively measure physical abilities such as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, positional tolerances, and endurance. Results help guide return-to-work planning and clarify safe work capabilities. - Work Conditioning Programs
Structured, goal-oriented rehabilitation programs designed to improve strength, stamina, flexibility, and tolerance to job-specific tasks. These programs simulate real workplace demands to safely build capacity. - Return to Work Assessments
Detailed evaluations that compare an individual’s current functional abilities to the physical demands of their specific job. Recommendations may include graduated return-to-work plans, job modifications, or ergonomic adjustments.
Who It's For / What to Expect
These services are for individuals recovering from injury, surgery, or illness who are not yet able to fully perform their job duties. These services support a safe, structured return to work by assessing physical capacity, identifying limitations, and guiding a gradual or modified return-to-work plan. They are commonly used for workplace injuries, disability claims, or ongoing conditions requiring objective assessment and return-to-work planning.
Assessments and programs are conducted by experienced physiotherapists and kinesiologists who understand both injury recovery and the physical demands of the workplace. Care may include standardized physical testing and objective reporting, job task simulation and graded activity progression, strength, endurance, and functional training, and education on body mechanics and injury prevention. When appropriate, collaboration with employers, case managers, and insurers is included.
Each plan is individualized to the person’s injury, job requirements, and recovery goals to support safe, practical, and sustainable return-to-work outcomes.
Benefits May Include:
- Clear, objective understanding of work capabilities
- Improved physical tolerance to job demands
- Reduced risk of re-injury
- Structured and measurable progress toward return to work
- Enhanced communication between worker, employer, and insurer
- Safe, supported transition back to work duties
